NEW OWNERSHIP as of the past six months. Keeping the brand name though. Been going here over 17 years with the real Carmen. The new fella's brother got a little pissy when I said you have big shoes to fill. I was being friendly and open minded to the new guy. Just went for a oil change and tranny flush. Right away it was apparent there was some change as Carmen himself did not call with diagnosis or any recommendations as per usual. When the fella suggested rotating the tires it was apparent something was up cause Carmen would always tell you if you NEED rotating BUT to take them where you BOUGHT them so as they could be rotated for free. "If you want me to take your money I will!" He said many times. Cause he just didn't nickel and dime you that way. Anyways... declined the suggested tire rotation and also declined the suggestion of a new cabin air filter. Arrived for pick up. First, wrong paperwork was handed to me. Glad I had my glasses to see it was someone else's bill. Oopsies. Feel sorry for that lady, her stuff was paragraphs of suggestions!!! Then got my bill, started reviewing it and was charged $40.53 for the cabin filter being changed: unapproved work. Then he says, oh, let me see your card again, your vehicle doesn't have a air cabin filter, I have to refund that amount. Wait, why did you suggest it then? And why did you charge as if you DID it when told NOT to do it in the first place? So now, I got skeptical, big time. Totally got awkward at the counter. My trust, thwarted immediately. Says they have two other shops. Why didn't you know my vehicle doesn't have an air cabin filter? Welp. It's been a good personal run here with the previous owner.... sadly this felt just like going from cream of the crop service to an impersonal Firestone-like shop, from start to finish. Bad taste. Moving on.
