On the evening of Monday, July 13th I dropped my truck for a engine valve gasket replacement in my Toyota Sequoia. As per Mark, this was a 2-3 hour job and truck would be ready on Tuesday. Tuesday @ 4PM I received a phone call from Mark that the part they received was wrong and they needed the truck another day.I agreed with the assurance I would have the truck back on Wednesday.Mark agreed.Wednesday, noon, I called to confirm the truck was being worked on and will be ready for pick up in the evening.Mark confirmed. At 4PM, I called to confirm I was picking up and Mark was gone for the day. Rich answered and informed me that they test drove it, and it appears the engine valve was not put on straight. It was crooked but the engine was too hot and he needed to keep it ANOTHER night. What choice did I have but for them to keep it.Thursday morning Mark called to tell me it was ready for pick up w/no explanation or apology. When questioned as to what happened, he said he didn't have one and didn't want us as a customer any longer and "he was done. Come get the truck." After work, I ubered down to pick up truck and immediately on my ride home found the AC was NOT blowing cold air and making clicking noises.Never had a problem w/AC before and the engine valve replacement was 4 inches from the AC.I immediately returned to the shop and asked Mark what happened to AC. He said according to the notes, the AC needs to be evaced and recharged. When asked why he didn't tell us this prior to leaving the shop or even coming to pick up he said "because I'm done with you as a customer and your truck." After he suggested going to the gas station for a recharge kit and me asking for him to fix it because I have young children, he agreed for an additional $125 and assurance it was nothing his technician could have done as he was no where near that area in the engine. So, I paid for a lyft ride home and left truck yet again.Friday morning, Mark called about 9AM to tell us the truck was done; end of story. When Mark was again asked if there was ANY possibility that the issue with AC could have happened during the engine valve replacement since it is about 4 inches from the replacement area.He assured us "nope" in a very upset manner. I finally picked up the truck on Friday. Longest 2-3 hour job I've ever had. I am disappointed to say things have changed at this locally owned shop. I have been going to this shop for 4+ years and dealt with the owner with Mike.Mike has since taken ownership of another shop in Gilbert and moved on.The passion for quality work ethic is no longer here.I sadly can not recommend Surprise Car Care for quality work anymore.
