I needed a couple of oil changes and we didn't have appointments. I called to some other shops in the area and no one could fit us in last minute. Mike, the service manager, was kind enough to work us in. My experience went as follows: 1. Oil changes range from $33-60. Obviously, coupons and mailers go out weekly for more reputable shops at half the price or less. I was willing to pay it because it was last minute. 2. After picking up our cars, my wife noticed that they rotate the tires with every oil change. Initially, we were thrilled! However, after driving the car less than 20 miles, one our hubcaps flew off the car and was run over. We have had the car less than 3 months and this was our first and only tire rotation. It wouldn't be a stretch to assume it was put on improperly. This, causing it to fall off while the vehicle was in motion. 3. Our second car had to be returned within 5 minutes of leaving the shop. I took it back to shop and they informed me that they did NOT properly thread the oil filter when putting it on. This took another 30-45 minutes. It would seem to me that this would be part of a good shop's checks and balances throughout their oil changes. In all, we will be buying a new hubcap for our truck, paid for 2 over priced oil changes, and were offered NOTHING for our troubles. I guess I know why the shop across the street was booked 2 days in advance, while Desert Car Care has two-thirds of their bays empty. Needless to say, we will take our business elsewhere and would advise you to do the same. Tony P. Gilbert, AZ
